Ryan Gosling joins Marvel universe as Ghost Rider

The studio confirmed that David Jonsson will step into the role of the new Black Panther, portraying the son of T’Challa. Director Ryan Coogler introduced Jonsson to the audience during the event, confirming the character will appear in the upcoming third installment of the franchise, scheduled for release on December 15, 2028.
In addition to the Black Panther casting news, Ryan Gosling officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is set to star in a new Ghost Rider film. Gosling expressed that he has wanted to play the character for a long time, and he will work alongside director Shawn Levy for the project. While the character has appeared in standalone films previously, this marks the first time Ghost Rider will be part of the official Marvel cinematic continuity.
Marvel Studios also shared details regarding the future of the Avengers. The studio plans to re-release Avengers: Endgame in theaters on September 25, featuring new footage intended to bridge the narrative gap toward the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. That movie is currently slated for a December 18 release. A trailer shown during the presentation highlighted Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Victor Von Doom, suggesting a history between his character and figures such as Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
The panel concluded with a notable appearance by Ryan Reynolds, who arrived in a gray costume to engage with the cast and producers. The event reflects Marvel’s strategic efforts to refresh its brand identity following recent challenges regarding the volume of its streaming content and varying critical responses to its films.
