Baton Rouge native and rapper NBA Youngboy, born Kentrell Gaulden, announced this week that he is moving to South Korea. The 26-year-old artist shared the update during an appearance on the podcast Open Thoughts with Funny Marco.
When asked about the possibility of returning to live in the United States, Gaulden stated he has no intentions to do so. He cited the safety and cleanliness of South Korea as primary reasons for his decision to relocate permanently.
This move marks a major shift for the artist who has been a frequent subject of headlines in Louisiana. Gaulden faced significant legal battles in recent years, including a conviction on gun charges in Utah that resulted in a 23-month prison sentence. He eventually received a pardon from President Donald Trump in May 2025.
As of now, the artist intends to establish a new life abroad, signaling a complete break from his current environment. His transition comes after a period of intense public and legal scrutiny back home.
