Josh Radnor recently opened up about his relationship with the How I Met Your Mother cast. During a discussion on the Half the Picture podcast, the actor who played Ted Mosby confirmed that the group is not as tight as they were during the show's nine-season run from 2005 to 2014.

Radnor compared their former connection to a college experience. He described a time where cast members spent every day together but noted that life paths naturally diverge once such an intense professional chapter concludes. While he maintains affection for his former co-stars, he clarified that they are no longer an active social group in the way fans might imagine.

The actor pointed out that the cast were professional colleagues chosen for their roles rather than lifelong friends who picked each other. He acknowledged the enduring, rich history they share but emphasized that the current reality involves limited contact. Radnor shared that he does not see Jason Segel often, despite occasional texting, and his interaction with Alyson Hannigan remains sporadic.

Despite the lack of day-to-day closeness, Radnor continues to revisit the series through his rewatch podcast, How We Made Your Mother. He noted that even during filming, certain professional tensions between him and Neil Patrick Harris were present. Radnor suggested that these real-life friction points actually contributed to the specific on-screen chemistry that defined the show's success for millions of viewers.
