Ex-Arizona guard Anthony Dell’Orso signs deal with Australian pro club
Former Arizona Wildcats guard Anthony Dell’Orso is returning to his home country to continue his basketball career. The 6-foot-6 guard signed a three-year contract with the Perth Wildcats of the Australian National Basketball League. This move comes following his two-year stint at Arizona where he appeared in 66 games and averaged 7.9 points per game. He was a key contributor during the Wildcats' recent run to the Final Four.
Dell’Orso began his college career at Campbell before transferring to Arizona. During his time in Tucson he established himself as a reliable perimeter threat, shooting 35.2 percent from behind the 3-point line. His performance during the 2026 Big 12 Tournament highlighted his capabilities, including a 26-point outing against Iowa State where he hit six 3-pointers. He also provided important production during stretches where teammates were sidelined due to injury.
After going undrafted in the most recent NBA draft, Dell’Orso participated in the NBA Summer League with the Sacramento Kings. He played in four games across the California Classic and Las Vegas sessions. While he explored opportunities in the United States, he will now head to the NBL to compete for a franchise that has won 10 championships and recently reached the league semifinals.
His contract with Perth includes specific clauses that allow for an opt-out should an NBA opportunity arise in the future. For now, the focus is on his development with one of the most successful clubs in the Australian league. He joins a list of former Arizona players who have transitioned into the NBL, including Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Keanu Pinder.
