Jets' Smith rues being 'distraction' after dispute with girlfriend

Police were called to Smith's residence on June 21 after an alleged physical altercation. Authorities declared the case inactive as neither party involved provided follow-up statements.

In addition to this incident, records show Smith was involved in two separate traffic stops in Florida over recent months. He received citations for improper vehicle tags and speeding in an Aston Martin, which resulted in fines totaling approximately 400 dollars.

Smith stated that he has discussed the situation with head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey. He emphasized his focus remains on the upcoming season and practice sessions. Veterans and staff appear ready to move forward as the team gears up for the year ahead.
