Greaves signs 3-year, $15 million contract with Blue Jackets

Jet Greaves signed a new three-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. The deal is worth $15 million, resulting in an average annual value of $5 million per season.

This agreement marks a conclusion to the contract talks between the 25-year-old goalie and the organization. Greaves, who was a restricted free agent, filed for salary arbitration earlier this month but avoided a formal hearing by finalizing this deal.

Greaves earned a career-high 26 wins during the previous campaign. He appeared in 55 games, recording a 2.60 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage throughout that time. His performance earned him a consistent role within the team rotation.

Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell noted that Greaves is a high-character athlete who has become an important piece of the team. The organization prioritized securing his status as a long-term member of the roster through this signing.
