Maple Leafs sign Bobrovsky to stabilize goaltending, highlight busy offseason

His playmaking skills are viewed as a potential solution to the team's offensive struggles from the previous year. The organization also saw leadership changes, appointing John Chayka as general manager and Jim Hiller as head coach to lead the new direction.

Several notable departures accompanied these additions, including Joseph Woll, who was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers. The team also parted ways with defensemen Brandon Carlo and Simon Benoit, and forward Nicholas Robertson. These roster shifts indicate a clear strategy to prioritize immediate impact players and defensive reliability.

Management is still active in exploring options to further improve the defensive corps, with trade interest in top-tier defenders reported throughout the summer.
