Disney has confirmed the upcoming X-Men movie is officially set for release on May 5, 2028. This film serves as a complete reboot of the franchise that originally defined a generation of comic book movies. The announcement arrived during the D23 event in Anaheim, where the studio shared the primary cast for the project.

Christopher Abbott is stepping into the role of Professor Charles Xavier. Sadie Sink joins the cast as Jean Grey. Other announced actors include Maya Boyd as Storm and Inde Navarette as Rogue. Adam Driver will portray the villain Mister Sinister. Previously confirmed cast additions include Kit Connor as Cyclops and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost.

This project follows Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. The industry has tracked how the studio would integrate these characters into the broader Marvel universe for years. With the new film landing in 2028 and Patrick Stewart appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, the path for the X-Men within the Disney catalog is now clear.
